“I am for all art that takes its form from the lines of life itself, that twists and extends and accumulates and spits and drips, and is heavy and coarse and blunt and sweet and stupid as life itself.”

Claes Oldenburg 1961 “Ode to Possibilities”

I am for an art of a floor that has been designed by a century of hobnail boots and school children’s shoes.

I am for an art of the forgotten and the overlooked.

I am for an art of copper pipes letting us know that the water we use comes to us through a series of processes that has taken the labour of many generations of individuals in collaboration, with the earth’s resources.

I am for an art of objects marked by time that make a virtue of their age.

I am for an art of bare plaster walls that celebrate cracks, rather than patching them up.

I am for an art of uneven, imperfect and unfinished.

I am for an art of resurrecting fireplaces.

I am for the art of light.

We Believe

We believe in life as art.
We believe all tasks in life can be an opportunity to acknowledge greatness.
We believe living can be a celebration of beauty.
We believe there is always something to learn in our daily tasks.
We believe in living.

We believe

to live mindful is to understand where everything that aids your life comes from and the journey it must take to be in your service.
We acknowledge the labour of many generations of individuals in collaboration with the earth’s resources who have built the world before us.

We Believe

previous generations have left us a story embedded in each interval of their design & building process. We believe its our job to continue the story. We believe in the art of repairing. We believe in celebrating the hand of time.

We believe that time is a great designer.
We believe craft is the perfect reconciliation between human and nature.
We believe in harmony.
We believe…

“The quality that we call beauty … must always grow from the realities of life.”
